Jennifer Long - Get Bitten Owner and hopelessly bitten by the travel bug.
During June of 2003, Jennifer was preparing for the trip of a life time; a three month trip through Eastern Africa. An ultra light luggage limit of 13kg was mandated by tour organisers (for the three whole months…!) due to the emphasis on trekking and extensive travelling around.
The search for style
Jennifer embarked on a search to find the lightest, hard wearing travel accessories available but with a bit of style. It became apparent that durability and practicality were readily available, but only if you liked basic designs in black, dark red or navy. This was especially true for toiletry bags. Funkiness and style were nowhere to be seen in hard wearing travel gear. This led to the inception of Get Bitten.

Seven years later, following painstaking research, design and planning, Get Bitten was officially launched in August 2011. The first collection inspired by the shapes of things we love – food from around the world. Offering a vibrant selection of styles and colours, it has been difficult to keep up with demand. A web shop has been established to enable those who cannot get to our stockists to have Get Bitten gear.
Restoring balance to the world
As Get Bitten grows another key focus is to find a way to restore balance to the world; both people and environment. We have already committed to donating a minimum of 1%of our revenue to environmental and humanitarian causes where specific recipients will be voted for by our customers. Additionally, we are also researching manufacturing materials and techniques that we can use that reduce impact on the environment so watch this space. As Get Bitten grows, how we help to restore balance will grow too.
